^those must be original the car. I still have my originals but I bought 3sets of new keys that say what yours say but are the size of 83's keys.

Alright, I finally got started on the main part of this project. There was so much bondo on here I can't even describe. The welding was trash and I am very surprised that it held up as long as it did.

This is what I started with.....

I did get the fender aprons cut off to the point where it is just the fram itself holding it together. That isn't saying much either because after I cut the driver side and started into the frame I could move the front end about a 1/4 of an inch by picking up on it. I can see why it was cracking on the top like it was. Hopefully I will have the frame cut apart tomorrow if I can get away from the kids for about an hour.

Thanks guys! I know a new sig was in order since I am not building the 83 anymore lol.

When I do get back to the porting of the motor I am going to also do some handy work to the carb spacer to taper the bottom half of it. It will look similiar to the "super sucker" carb spacer.

Tonight I am going to try to work on cleaning the oil pan and try painting it tomorrow afternoon sometime when its warmer. That way I can button up the bottom end and the timing cover finally.

SLOW DOWN! You're making me feel lazy! I have barely done anything to mine... i've been sanding the stupid hatch area for days now and i'm still not even close to being done.

Progress looks like its coming along extremely fast on yours! Those welds are... gewd... lol. I'm sure it will be sweet when it gets finished.

nope they were replacements from cj ponyparts. I had to replace the locks, snapped the key off in the drivers side a while back... I think they were NOS parts...

Hahaha, I feel like I am not going fast enough! I get to do a little here and a little there. To tell you the truth there really isn't all that much to do to slap it together to make it run. I am doing a few things here and a few things there to make it better. On top of this project I am also remodeling my bathrooms so my time is split between those projects and spending time with the family. It should look prettty good when I am done. I still don't know exactly what I want to do with the fender aprons when I am done but I will decide on that when the time comes and I have the metal to play with.

lol that just makes it even worse! You're doing multiple projects, and spending time with family! The biggest thing holding me back is, motivation lol... i have plenty of time to work, but its like 30 degrees outside.. and the propane heater eats bottles of propane to fast. And i'm always having partys here in my garage so that doesn't help... its a disaster right now.

They make the passanger side fender apron... couldn't find a new drivers side, but i bought one for my car. I'll follow along the post... goodluck.
