yea, true. Carb set ups are so much cleaner looking. Cant wait till I have a carbed 408w under the hood of mine.
BTW, I got the same oil pan gasket. Really impressed with the quality of it. Thouse little pin's that come with it make it so simple to install the pan, even on the engine stand.

As you see in the mock up pick its a brand new water pump (fathers day present from the girls) so no its not getting painted. The oil pan is getting painted black and the intake is staying the clean aluminum look. I just have to clean the oil off of it.

EDIT: and the filler neck valve cover is supposed to be on the passenger side of the motor. but i guess it doesn't matter on a carb set up?

looking good not to jack yer thread but i got an 85 dissy to swap to a carb set up, the guy at advanced said all he could get that fit that was a mallory cap and rotor it is the small cap but i see yers and you have the regular style flat one. so any idea what this guys talking about? i have not clue now
Lol, no thanks, I like the aluminum look
.
Symonds, I don't remember what year I looked it up for (83 or 85) but it is stock dizzy, cap, and rotor. The guy at advance must be a retard because it is nothing special. If I didn't have my 1 inch spacer under my carb but 14 inch air cleaner wouldn't work because it sits right on top of the plug wire on the cap. So keep that in mind.

i see what the problem was now he didn't no i needed the cap base, and neither did i. i was looking at my 88 dissy and that cap base scews on and yers uses the clips, so we thought the clips held the cap. so i'll go down tom and try again glad you posted the pic
Ahhh yes the base. I forgot to get mine when I first got the dizzy too lol.
Well guys tonight I got my quarter windows bolted in for now and sorted through more of my wiring. I still need to clean and paint the stripping on the windows and seal them so they are not installed for good yet. I am slowly putting together the puzzle of the wiring harness and figuring out what plugs are for what. I will post more pics tomorrow.
