93 Reborn Build
I did start the welding last night but still have some to do.
Spot welded a thick plate inside the frame to connect the two parts.

The frame has now been fully welded and feels ALOT more solid than it used to!
The inside welds don't look like MIG welds because they are not smooth like you usually see but that is because I didn't do a straight bead at one time. I started and stopped all the way up so I wouldn't burn through. Some before and after pics.....

As you can see the frame looks much straighter from a distance as well.

As you can see I now have to make some extension plates for my hoot pins to get them to line up correctly until I get a new hood.

I put the fenders and nose on the car today to see how everything looks. Sadly The front fender mount locations didn't line up like they should and it seemed like I welded the radiator support to close to the firewall but the measurements were right on with what I had off my other car. The hood even closed and latched just fine so IDK exactly. I am guessing there was some tweaking done from the previous work. Thats ok though, I started cutting out the fender aprons more and it allowed enough flexibility to be able to pull the top of it out enough to line up the front holes for the fenders and get everything else lined up correctly. Soon I will be getting the rails welded back together so I can bolt the fenders on completely.
I have already cut the bottom part of the aprons from the frame rail and pulled it back to get the holes to line up better. Like I said above I still need to reattach the top parts where the fenders actually bolt down to and get it to stay where I need it to.
FivePointOhh, do you have a pic of the area behind the headlights and how it is all connected? I haven't figured out how I want to do it all right there. If I had the proper bending equip like I have access to back in Indy I would be fine but I am trying to do the least amount of cutting, welding, and what not.

Yup, its flux. Its a mig/flux welder from wal mart. My wife bought if for me 4 years ago. I would use MIG with some gas but the switch is stuck on flux so I don't have a choice but to use it. It does alright for $100 welder.
holy **** i got something right! lol
thats cool, i dont see why so many people hate flux so much. thats all i have right now, lincoln 3200hd. but then again since i have no garage right now all the gas would just blow away
