93 Reborn Build
Now then next thing I have to do is see about that vibration issue again lol. I tried using the drive shaft from my 83 but it is a little longer than the 93's so I couldn't get it popped onto the pinion flange. I then tried to swap yolks but the 83's is also smaller diameter at the U-joint so that was a no go as well.
Finally installed my antenna so now I can listen to the radio instead of CD's all the time lol
I pulled the carb apart a couple days ago to clean it bc it ran like crap and now it is smooth. No more trying to die on me when I come to a stop and it will actually idle with the choke like its supposed to on first start up. I plan on painting the hatch red finally when I get paid next weekend. This way I'm not so mismatched lol

Lol I will swap you short blocks
Its nice to get to drive it again. I still have a leak around the gas tank to chase down. I thinking it may be the seals inside the fuel lines at the disconnects. This weekend I think I am going to remove them and use some regular rubber hose and clamps. Its the only thing that hasn't been messed with and its the only part that didn't come off the 83 and it didn't leak.

So lucky me, over this weekend I have had a few major issues I had to work out.
First I finally found what was leaking on the gas tank.....the tank itself.... It had rusted enough to allow gas to seam through right at the seam weld on the front passenger corner. After cleaning it up I had about a 3/4 inch gash pretty much. So until I go pick up another tank I took some epoxy weld that I had and filled it up and smoothed over the other small spots that would seep out. Not going to last forever but it will for the next couple of weeks as long as I don't fill it up much past 1/2. Once I get done with this field crap and go on leave mid December I can take a trip to the pick and pull and grab up another tank.
Second, I went to a local meet and on the way there my fan controller fried. Then after taking care of the smoking issue I couldn't get my hood to latch anymore (issue 3). So while at the meet I had to remove the hood and throw it into the hatch and drive home.
The next day I fixed the hood latch and took the time to install the hood release cable finally. Then I had to do a little rewiring for right now and wire the fan up on a relay and switch till I can get another controller.
Seems like every time I move one step forward I get knocked 2 steps back with this thing. But that is part of the game. I am however driving it as a DD right now back and forth to work. I do have some tuning to do now that the weather has gotten a lot colder.
I think turkey day weekend I will be taking the couple of hours to sand down the hatch and spray bomb it red to at least half *** match the car. Then here soon I will be installing a heater core finally
I'm tired of using a towel to wipe off the inside of my windshield in the mornings! lol

...yea unfortunately.... $140 in the hole...
BUT I can't say it is the controller's fault. I put one of the jumpers on the 2 pins that it says not to put the jumper on. I had removed the jumper for the 10% constant run that morning because its cool out and not needed. I noticed it was running alot warmer than usual that night so I pulled over to put the jumper back on and stuck in on the wrong ones. The one I needed was the one set lower. MY BAD! As soon as I kicked the ignition on I heard it and it looked like a smoke bomb went off under the hood. I popped the hood and see it spewing smoke so I removed all the jumpers. That didn't stop it so I had to then get the dikes out and cut the ground wires to it to cut the power. There isn't any way to pop it open either to see if I could possibly fix it so I'm pretty much screwed on it. OOO WELLL!!!!!

I forgot you had one too. When I pulled them off I really wasn't worried about them so I lost them. I think I might have one extra somewhere if you want it. I'm def not going to be able to.
Its been a long time since I posted anything about the car. I have been very busy at work so I haven't had time to really do anything. I finally purchased a heater core! So next time I go to work I won't be freezing my a$$ off! lol. This isn't my first time pulling dashes but seriously, I don't see why people think replacing a heater core is that bad. I could have had this thing apart and back together in well under 2 hours. That is even with struggling with the switches at the cluster bezel. Oo well....
I am also finally wiring up the lights for my extra gauges and hooking the stock tach into my tach feed wire so the cluster doesn't look so dead. While I have the car in the garage I am going to mess with the brakes some more and see if I can get them to work better. I know I have very low vacuum but I'm pretty positive that I have air in the line still and the rears could be adjusted a little better.
I have been driving the thing alot lately though without any issues. I really need to upgrade the alternator though so I don't have to have the idle over 1k. When the fan comes on it causes the idle to dip because of the draw and when comming to a stop the car wants to drop so low it tries to die. I have to tap the gas while using the brake and it gets tiring when I do have to do it.
