dizzy wouldn't go in the block, started to freak, thought my billit oil pump shaft was to long, sweating bullets and pounding beers at the thought of pulling the motor/trans again.

half drunk reolize the explorer dizzy fits fine. put it in my old block, its kinda loose, grind a bit off my dizzy, and BLAM falls right in.


motor fires up on the third rotation from the starter, idles right down no problem. slight idle surge, and its showing a check engine light, but I think I just need to do a base idle reset and such.


few other odds and ends. I'll PM you a link to a full write up.

Sounds very good to my ears there 302 and J, not to much longer till I can get home to drive my LX.

Well next weekend I will be installing my behive valve springs. They are supposed to show up tuesday! Thanks again Robert!

Well since the short block I was supposed to pick up from a friend of mine is on hold I have located another one that shouldn't need any machine work. I just talked to a local friend who has a roller motor that has a couple spun bearings. So long as the crank is in good shape I will finally have another good short block so my swap can get underway. If the crank is screwed up I will swap in the other 28oz crank I have with some new bearings and throw it back in the car. Along with short block I am getting an aftermarket roller cam that was in the motor but we don't know the specs of it exactly. No big deal.

So now the only things I am missing from for the swap are:

fuel pump
CAI
ECU
coolant tube for intake
o2 sensors
eec relay

I would use the 28oz crank, get it polished/looked over, get new flywheel and balancer, etc.

The motor will rev up much better with a 28oz balance.


drove my car today for 40 miles in light traffic.

ZOMG love it. haha. I miss this car too much.


The car gets twice as many looks as before now with the cowl hood though. People are like O_O haha.

before It was just loud and the car shook a lot, but now it just looks mean rolling down the street.

still having issues doing almost double the speed limit, because im not use to the torque/power.
