I live in Northwest Alabama in small town called Vernon. I do go to a few different tracks though. I want to go to Montgomery to watch a Pro-Mod race this year.

i actually did live right outside of Montgomery at Millbrook about ten years ago.

I'm a cheap SOB, and I don't have plans to have this motor in the car for long. I will be building a 351w punched out to a 408 with all the bells and whistles eventully.

Once that is ready I will spray the biggest shot my nitrous kit will support, and run with that until the stock block lets go.

The 408 will get a custom grind, and I wont be cheap, even if it means taking forever to build the motor.

I just saw the extra $200 above this cam to go custom was wasted money at this point, on this build.

Ok i hear yah on that, but as i always say to each his own, i dont judge people on there decisions hell after all it is there car!!

So far i have i have 3270$ in the pics above i have about 1182$ more in engine parts alone to go, then 1238 on electronics minus the dyno time! so engine overall cost 4002$ and with electronics roughly 5300 plus dyno costs!

The engine cost me roughly 3000$ less than a crate engine of the equal cuin and topend!

FMS-M-6007-C347 8600$

edl-45373 10,449$

Granted you get the 2000$ block with either purchase i am still way ahead of the game!
This is my belief you can spend a ton of money on this stuff and break it and shot your self in the head then, or you can do it like i do and be able to rebuild asap!

ALL engines will break eventually! just depends on how much you wanna be out!

I have checked on most of the crate engine balancing jobs and there between 2 grams and 20 grams out when there done, i had mine done at my local shop and it is to 0 grams out i am friends with the owner and his brother whom does the balancing, i get to watch the whole process, pretty awsome, when you get to grams 20 or less isnt much out (you wont feel it) but he believes when you pay for a balance job you should get a balanced assembly that means 0 fianl spin up on the machine!

I cant wait to be done i hope to go into the 6`s in the 8th mile, prolly wont do it n/a but with some gas i dont believe it will be hard to acheive the goal!
