Default quick question ???

ok so hopefully tomorrow im going to remove the gt40p intake and install my trick flow street burner intake.

question here is should i actually run the spacer? its 3/8" thick. idk if i want the extra runner length as it it the street burner and not the track heat.. i kno it will reduce heat in the upper but i am still unsure.. mods are in sig.

plz give an explanation too thanx

It should help increase tq and thats really what gets you going not hp. I run a 1" spacer on my setup and wouldn't think of ever removing it. Hp is a direct relation to what your tq is. When you dyno a car on a chassis dyno it reads your tq and then it calculates the hp from it

ya i know all that and how a dyno works.

power = torque* rotational speed (rpm)

torque= tangential force * radius of the drum

force = mass*acceleration

i figured the longer the runners the more bottom end and less top end?

you have the track heat correct? the track heat has the shorter runners and therefore a 1" spacer will make it slightly more like a street heat thus giving you some more low end.

im just afraid that i will have too much bottom end and not enough top. as i have 3.73s

yup yup, longer runners usually equates to higher torque down low, and slightly less top end power (which can be negated in a tune, or with cam timing)

I have a street heat now, Had the track heat but the car responds better with the street heat for drag racing for me at least because really you make all of your run out of the 60' once you get going its all about just going straight, your gonna make all your time in the 60' so thats why I wanted more tq so that it comes out of the hole better which it does now.

I would run it. In theory you might lose a little top end power but how much do you really thing that is?
