Default A rough horsepower estimate, oh foxbody gurus of the MF.

Hey everybody, my friend just bought a 93 GT, its got GT40 heads, and E cam, and a Cobra intake. Its got a Vortech, we aren't sure what trim, but suppossedly its a cheaper one, so maybe an F trim?

Anyway, roughly, what kind of power do you guys think this setup is making? I know there's lots of variables, but a ballpark figure would help.

PS, I'm not a foxbody noob, so be careful flaming. I had an '89 GT with pretty much the same setup, with a GT40 intake, a B cam, but minus the blower.

I raced him last night in my bone stock 2010 and he pulled on me pretty well, maybe 4 car lengths in the 1/4 mile.

Thanks for any insight.

stock 2010 i think not

nevermind, I am into a few beers and thought I read you were outran by 2010 model by 4 car lenghts. Anyways, no way to guess that when a different pulley on the supercharger can make a world of difference as in also gear ratio, weight, transmission, driver, and so on.

350rwhp would be a good starting point.

Yeah, I know there's lots of variables. We were just curious on a ballpark figure. I dont think its running a lot of boost. The oldtimer that he bought it from was running 87 octane in it! Its got a built C4 tranny in it, 3.55 gears, probably close to stock weight (its still got AC, power steering, sound deadener, stock seats, etc) for what its worth.

Its built real streetable, but it sounds mean as hell. Full length headers to Flowmasters with turndowns. It makes me miss my '89.

The c-4 with a stall converter helps with a centrifugal supercharger. Those superchargers only make boost under a load. The stall converter gives it a load without moving and builds boost off the line.

Its got a decent stall, it sounds like my '71 Chevelle did with a 3500 stall.
