TEA? head porter? is this "total engine airflow" in ohio? around how much does an intake runner port job usually run?

i'd probably have to get my intake ported too - as far as i can tell it's rated at 265 cfm...

EDIT:

found their pricing... i'll definitely take this into consideration. thanks mjr!

the trickflow racing intakes would be my choice.

the cam is not a big deal IMO, other then for high RPM's its not really going to work out.

you already got good info on the heads.

that's why i like this place!

as far as the heads go, i'm thinking about just selling the 170's and picking up some tw 205's... aside from the difference in intake/exhaust runner volume and combustion chamber volume, it looks like they have steeper degree valve locks and higher rate valve springs (135 lbs compression strength instead of 125 lbs). if the price ends up being about the same as getting the 170's ported then that might just be the better bet.

if i'm correct, that should give me a few more rpm's before they start floating, yes?

also, i'm trying to figure out what to do about the cam - it needs to be able to idle pretty well since this is a D/D, and i also have to think about passing NJ emissions (the exhaust is catted with new 3" hi flow cats, so this actually shouldn't be too difficult). seems to me that i wouldn't want a lot of overlap on the valve events though, right? i'm thinking i want high lift but short duration. fwiw my pistons will be flycut with valve reliefs for tw heads, so i should be pretty good in terms of valve clearance.

correct me if i'm wrong...

Trick Flow Fast As Cast heads are the way to go with a 347.

As far as cams go; custom, custom, custom. If you're going to go this far with your motor, do it right and you'll only do it once. Lay up and you'll only spend more money doing it right the second time around.
