Default TKO 5 spd to auto trans

i have a 94 5.0 with a TKO 3550 in it and i absolutely hate it. the tranny is fine, but i just hate driving a manual around through traffic, and trying to race from a stop with it, and the spec stage 5 clutch in it is not helping me like it more lol.
i have always like stalled autos, gas n go is alot easier then trying to clutch... shift... miss... try again... miss again.... find the gear... race is over lol.
now that im done ranting lol, i would like to swap it, but seeing as this is my first ford/mustang im not a 100% sure at what all this project entails. i need a tranny that will hold 500 + RWHP, and over drive is a big plus. i was looking at the 4r70w trans but dont know a lot about them, will it bolt up? or will i need a different bell housing/adapter plate of some sort? will it handle the power levels i am throwing at it? will i need a different ECU/chip tune to run it?
any info you guys can give me would be a great help, and if you guys know anyone looking for a good TKO 3550 let me know lol

you'll want a lentech if you plan on having more than 150 hp, dont go lower than 3000 stall speed on the converter.

3200 is better. here is the deal with "advertised" stall speed and why 90% of mustang owners get too low.

for one.. they think if the converter says 3000... that they need to reach 3000 rpm for the car to start moving. and thats just not true

the other is that advertised stall is based on some standards. 2 of which are hp and weight of the car. the lighter the car... the LOWER the actual flashpoint

the less hp... the lower also.

so some guy takes a 3200 lb hatchback making 300 hp on a set of heads and a cam, gets a 2500 stall, and it acts barely more than stock and he's P.O'd

anyways..... check out that link.... they are about the only performance trans shop that will give you a lifetime warranty, and len has been doing AOD's for well over 10-15 years. maybe close to 20 now.... d@mn im gettin old

many people rebuild the AODE with 4R70W internals, since the 4R itself (4.6 based) will not bolt to a 5.0
