rear end gears?
I need to set up the rear end in my 86 foxbody and trying to figure out what to put into it. Right now it has stock 2.73, but i want to get the right gear for supercharging it later down the road. What is a good choice in gears?? 3.55 or 3.73??

depends on what kind of S/C you're going with IMO. If you're going with a centrifigual type (vortech, paxton, procharger) than I would suggest 410's. Roots style or twin screw (whipple, eaton, KB) than 373's will be the way to go..

You have it right. A deep 3 or 4 something gear will be too low for a supercharged 5L. Especially a stock one. You will be trapping around 110mph and with 3.73's it will be reving so high, it will need a shift into 5th to run the quarter.
3.27's would be a great place to start with a blower in the future.

thanks for the input, i'll put a 3.55 ring in it now and when time to put the charger on it i'll probably change up some parts on the motor to make it spin at a higher rpm. I do have a little done to it now with bigger cam, injectors, intake, aluminum heads, ect.
