Default Cleaning valves?

Long story short, i bought a hatch earlier in the year and its run like **** ever since. I bought it because it was clean and well set up plus a bitchin price. Recently i decided to tear it down and take the car in a different direction. I found out 3 of my pistons were chipped with missing pieces. There is build up on the valves (see below), how can i go about removing that before i sell the heads? Or should i not mess with it?

simple carb or brake cleaner, and a lite wire scrub brush will clean it right up

That worked on the intake valve, but the build up on the exhaust valve is like metal, it wont budge...

idk, try soaking a rag, and letting it sit on there for a bit?

I wouldn't sweat it to bad if you cant get them perfect.

Take them out of head and put on the wire wheel on bench grinder.

I would put the spark plug in and fill the chamber with gas. If the valves don't leak down, I would put them back on the motor and run sea foam. Or take a die grinder with a wire wheel and brake cleaner to clean them up.

If they do leak down, I would have the valves worked and let them clean the heads.
