Default What kind of replacement oil I can use for rear diff

I would like to change it just in case, as there is a small leak I can't fix right now (no parts), but the owners manual has some cryptic FDxxxxxxx number which is 100% unlikely to be available in Europe.

Is there a replacement oil I could use, kinda like Dextron/75w90/ATF/someotherfancyname? I know the LSD is supposed to have special oil, but I don't know what index/name it should have.

lucas makes some stuff that is already synthetic so, you wouldn't have to add anything to it. No idea how much it cost though. I used some stuff called posi trac and some cheap rear-end oil. It worked pretty good.

+1+2 good information. That's all you need. You are really at such a disadvantage trying to get the things we take for granted. Hang in there. None of my business but what kind of tariff do you have to pay to get USA parts?

Ok, I brought 2 liters of Castrol 75w90 LSD oil that goes into vicious coupling diffs, and from what I gather, it should be with additive inside. But after closer inspection, it turned out differential hasn't leaked any serious amount of oil. And I was under a false alarm. I'll leave those bottles for later, when I'll be replacing the axle seal.

The sound was coming from the front wheel bearing, so I'll have to replace that thing quite soon.

As for parts, last shipment from summitracing.com via USPS:EMS came out 165% of US price in total, custom charges and shipping included. Not very cheap, but UPS packages usually costed around 220%-250%.

Do summitracing stock OEM parts? I browsed but couldn't find most of what I need. I will have to write them I guess.

P.S.: Anyone has an idea why LSD is locking easily on left turns and almost never on right ones?

How do you drain the oil in the diff? Do you have to take the cover off? There was one more bolt, but I wasn't sure it's the real one, so I left it unchanged for now.

Aren't the clutches supposed to be slipping and grabbing equally in both directions?

yes, the cover has to come off.

Not sure on the other question. If you change the fluid, it may fix the problem once that synthetic stuff gets on the clutches.
