No pwr under load
I have put 1.7 rocker arms, a bbk fuel pressure regulator with fuel rails, and a msd distributor on my 89 gt. I got the car to idle at 700. The throttle response sucks at idle but is great at higher rpms. The car has almost no power under load--just enough to barely move the car--and spits and sputters. I have the timing set at 15*, which is where the car ran best. Why doesn't it have any power?

what other mods do you have?
what do you have the fuel pressure set at?
have you pulled any codes?
id reset the timing to stock, set the fuel pressure to stock and see what codes you have for now. then go from there

No Power
I really have not done much to it at all. Nothing on the bottom end. Not wanting a race car. It has a BBK SSI intake with BBK fuel rails, and regulator, with the plenum spacer, MSD ignition 1.72 roller rockers, long tube MAC headers. Really that is about it beside the normal upgrades for water pump, fuel pump etc. The car ran very well stock before we tried to make it even better. We have not messed with the fuel pressure regulator. My fuel gauge is obviosuly mounted on the stock chrome looking metal fuel line where it is supposed to go on a 5.0, but the BBK regulator is on the fuel rails where it goes, which is to me, after the gauge? When I start the car it goes to 39 where it is supposed to go according to what I have read. I do not believe it is rocker arms because our compression has been tested multiple times, and it is high. Thanks for your help! This is our first project, as you can tell.

secondly, have compression will not be an indication of the springs being ok or not...
i can throw a .650" lift solid roller and let it idle with stock springs (it would sound mean as hell too) but once i got the rpms up, it would start to float...
my stock cam/springs would start to get "fluffy" around 5000 and by 5500 it was done...
