Yes, I am running bbk shorty headers. I had to go to the parts store and slide off a 90 degree plug wire boot off an old used wire to get them to work. Ford Motorsport headers fit the best they claim.

The Mac headers won't work unless they are the ones designed for the p heads. Unless they have changed their design since I put mine together last year.

The Ford Motorsport headers come up rarely from what I have seen. Every time I did see a deal on them for less than a couple of hundred, it would be gone by the time I heard back from the pm. A new set is going to run you over 300 if they are new.

The bbk headers can be had for cheap. I paid 120 or so shipped for mine of ebay. They were ceramic coated too but, one of them has a slight bit of rust on two of the welds. You can get them like that all day long.

One thing about changing heads is you will have to loosen the headers anyways from the pipe. So at least you are not any more labor.

Are you anywhere near Alabama?

gt40 p heads + need headers ..puts the power to price in a bad spot ..
what about some bare heads ... i cant use most of my stock stuff..

i was looking at these rather assembled or bare

yea they up the budget i may add another 300 or so
And other than nitrous
i was thinking a nice intake kit.
a cam
short belt--
throttle body

seems i would gain with cam and intake...

u can convert the nitrous kit but, I would want new solenoids if it were me.

It is none of my business but, just wondering since I would like to live there....How were you planning on getting away with a gt40p swap in Cali?

You can Gt40p swap, they are OEM heads they have a factory part #. they have a C.A.R.B # on file with ford. the smog guy is not going to even be suspicious there not alloy.

The GT40p head & mac's will work. you may have to pull a header bolt to change the plug or you can use a wobble and make a slight dent in the tube. either way I have done it before. It works. Just a little finesse is required.
