Default 5 Speed Problems

I got a 95 GT and Im having issues with the trans. If i try to upshift into second it will pop back out and make a slight grinding noise. If i rev it over 3k in first and granny shift it will go into second. If I downshift into second it will go in as long as I hold the shifter back when I let the clutch out. It does not like to shift into third if im shifting fast at high rpms. Also the clutch does not engage until its at the end of the pedal. It is stock cable, quadrant, and all that. I do not know what clutch but it feels pretty stiff. Like the king cobra in my 89 LX. I Would love it if someone could help me out. Im thinking syncros or maybe bent shift fork.

Thanks in advance,
Trevor

Aftermarket shifter? Check adjustment. Transmission, can be shift forks, clutch sleeve, blocking rings, and or gear.Take it apart for a look see.

I ended up putting the stock shifter back on. I adjusted the stops on the bbk shifter but it still did no good. could this possibly be fixed by adjusting the clutch?

If you replaced the clutch, i believe it requires an aftermarket clutch adjustment cable.

Not sure if this applies or is your issue though

Remove trans and take it apart, replace along with clutch components.

if the clutch is really stiff, you are going to need a clutch quadrent too.
