Question Need feedback on my list of parts

I've retired my 89 5.0 to the garage to do some work and wanted to check up and see if my choice of parts will work well together. I'm looking for a nice street car. I don't need a track car that can run 10s, most likely won't ever take it to the track, so just a ballsy cruiser I guess I could say. Some of these things are already on the car, but most I have still to get:

MAC shorty headers (already have on the car)
MAC exhaust from headers back (already on the car)
BBK Fenderwell cold air intake (already on the car)
BBK off-road H Pipe
Ported E7 heads (maybe GT40s if funds allow, but probably not)
e303 cam
1.7 rockers
New lifters
8.8 3.73 rear conversion
Cobra Intake (figured this was all i needed with the stock e7s)
(not sure which size throttle body)

My list evolves around my own choices and also my budget of course. There is more to this list such as ignition, new underdrive pullies, etc. It is open for critique since I have knowledge, but I'm not a technician/mechanic and this will be my first major project with my car.

Are you saying this because of the e7 heads? I see ppl going with very similar combinations all the time, many of which go with the GT40 heads however. I thought e7s would be adequate for an out of the box cobra intake.

E7's are your stock heads, and they are garbage.

no....................because cam valve events are not the best, heads are stock and cobra intake in stock forum is nothing special, and you see people going with said set up a lot because they are cheap and like to sound cool when they spout off the combo, sad truth is, you'll be lucky to make 230 rwhp with that set up.

And this can't be helped with a porting and polishing job?

PROBLEM WITH STOCK HEADS is they only have a 1.78/1.46 valve set up = small, if you hogged the e7 out and installed a bigger valve set up such as 1.94/1.60 then it'd be okay, but only reason to dump so much coin into a stock cast iron head is class racing......I had a cobra intake hogged out big time and it was obvious someone spent alot of coin to do it, to me it's wiser to buy something that will suit your goal rather they dump alot of coin into oem parts that produce marginal results.

Makes sense. I did decide to at least spring for the GT40s instead of staying stock. I'm just not sure if I'll be able to pull of aftermarket aluminum heads... GT40s paired with the cobra intake would be okay, or should I be looking at a higher flow intake?
