why a fly wheel

Default why a fly wheel

if my factory flywheel is able to resurface can i put my new clutch in with it????

what is the purpose of using a new flywheel??? do factory ones break upto certain power??

i dont want a aluminum flywheel os my only option would be steel

If you can resurface it, do it. Local clutch shop here only charged $20. A billet steel pone is stronger and an aluminum one is lighter and funner.

An aluminum allows the car to rev quicker and in my opinion makes it easier to drive.

You will probably need to get the dowel pins out though. You may screw them up too if you do.

^^ yes, and if the machine shop has to pull them to resurface they will most likely charge you $10-$20

steel is heavier so it'll hit harder, and like stated aluminum is lighter so it'll rev quicker

Stock type flywheels can be turned in a brake lathe......

There is also a limit on how much can be removed, just like brakes. Too thin and it's scrap metal.

As for aluminum vs steel. With ALL things equal, heavier is easier to drive.

The main reason for going to an aluminum flywheel is to help with wheel spin.
