Clocked when using a stock air box, pipe coming from the fender, or a straight pipe w/conical filter?

At this point I'm just about to finish up the rear end rebuild and will have it on the road in a few weeks. Taking a road trip with some friends the first of June. When I get back from the trip I'll try swapping the MAF and injectors and see what she does.

I'd like to know more about the clocking issue.

IMO the MAF wires are too close to the leading edge of the tubes opening. I can see where a non-laminar or turbulent flow might cause uneven velocity entering the large area vs the sample tube. (like with a elbow / pipe coming from the fender)
