I thought the numbers were comparable to what i had seen too.

Here is a link to the guy that tunes my car. His Cobra is still an original motor but, it also makes less power. http://mustangfreaks.com/chris_car_02.htm

ok, well from what he has listed there which isnt very much, i got a lot more engine work done and he is running only 12 less hp and more torque.

torque numbers vary with gear ratios! certain engine work nets more power gains than others pending it being a benefit or a setback, not every mod is a good choice! not every set of 4.10`s will get the same result! some setups like them some dont, things like tire hieght come in to play etc! Things like intake airspeed correct vlv size to bore the runner flow etc have to be within certain specs to benefit a hp gain! Cam lifts and durations, lobe seperation many many things when it comes down to small gains and losses!

I guarantee it wasn't 98 degrees out. I watch cars speed up tenths at the drag strip the cooler it gets outside.

I bet with better air it would speed up a bit. The trickflow 170cc kit says 350 at the flywheel. That is close to 300 at the wheels I imagine. How bad do you think it is off???

I wouldn't worry about the engine coming up to temp with a 160 thermostat in it. Engines ran that way for a long time until the EPA started want 195's and stuff for emissions purposes......
I'd take the car to a dragstrip and make some runs and see what my MPH was then get the car wieghted someplace and use the table in the 'stickies' to get the HP....

I really could care less about the epa or emissions, the optimal running temp is between 200 and 210* trying to run a engine too cool an cause abnormal wear and make engine life shorter, thats the main reason i run a 195* in all my engines unless the ecm is setup specifically for less.

As said before your numbers are within the margin for your H/C/I and cuin end of point!

Small things like fuel quality, altitude, humidity, volumetric efficiency have to all be taken into account!

lmao

what in the HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!

I made 321rwhp with the combo I listed, swapped the intake, picked up 4mph at the track a few weeks later, then a month later the bottom end ate all the main bearings (160,000 original miles, stock bottom end obviously)

my bottom end now that I got out of the junkyard makes the same if not MORE power.

you do not need more then a stock bottom end 302 to get over 300rwhp even with a "budget" build. my cam is crap and I made well over 300 on a hot day.

stop spewing B.S. info please.
