Dyno results
took the car up to Dez Racing in Seekonk MA, would just like to start by saying they have awesome customer service and Mike is a very knowledgeable guy. We did about 6 runs with the first run at 292hp and 290ftlbs. We had to let the car sit for about 20 min in between runs because it was getting so hot. I had a 195 thermostat in there so every pull by the time we were done was up around 205. there is one pic of the dyno sheet at the bottom you can see the air temp and its right about 98 degrees outside. All in all the final number was 296hp and 301ftlbs. Wish i would have had a cooler thermostat and done this on a cooler day and i probably would have broken 300. o well.

i agree, should have made a bit more, even with the high temperature.
I made 321rwhp with trickflow heads, trickflow stage 2 cam and typhoon intake. It was very warm that day also, I think about 90 degrees.

yea, dont really want to throw Dez racings tuning into question, but the first run i ran 292hp/296lbs and the final was 295/302. so either it close to good or there wasnt much tuning done.not sure what it could be, might have to just do another couple runs on a diff dyno. preferably on a cooler day. spark plugs looked good, right now got them gapped at .054(AL25) any ideas guys?

If you are only 302-308 cuin you are at a very good set of numbers! Only way you will get over 300hp is to have between 331 and 347 cuin with that setup! You have a great topend just add a few more cubes or charge it like you said!
A cooler thermostat wouldnt change much.
a cooler day yatta yatta that just gives false numbers! putting a high velocity fan infront of the car while on the dyno other than cooling purposes for the engine gives you false wind speeds etc and gives you a different than real world numbers!
Stop light to stop light heat and working condition will give you the best real world numbers, since at the track and the street you wont have supercool air and high velocities there why get false indications to go on.
A 192-195 thermo is the best range to operate in unless you use a chip that wants a 160 dont bother!
If you are that close on a 98* day if you want to see it break 300 got back for a single pull when its 70 or less out!

alright sounds good, so good or bad that i swapped in that 180 thermostat. if i run it hard the temps get up to 200 anyways with it in. im kinda worried about the cooler weather, where its going to be hard to get it up to temp.
