Ok, if what you say is true why don't the cam grinders ever mention this fact and publish what the different durations are?
I've never seen that sort of information in and I've been in this hobby for 40+ years....

Look at it this way WHERE is the only change being made??? At the rocker right? The rocker can and does dertermine lift but not duration. The cam lobe is doing the exact same thing it done with the 1.6 the vlv is just moving faster and farther with the 1.7 timing in the event really doesn't change just the rate things happen. That's just how I think of it but hey I'm just the guy in the corner lol!
