Car won’t run
Hey guys I bought a 1994 mustang GT 5.0 HO yesterday it cranked over but wouldn’t start so i put gas in it and then attempted to start it and it cranked then everything died. So I let it sit overnight charged the battery the whole night this morning I went out put the fully charged battery and I went to start it and still had no crank or anything. I started looking around and the guy who had it before me broke the starter relay so I put the battery back on a trickle charger and got a new relay put it in put the battery back in and still nothing. The guy did have an aftermarket remote start put in it but I’m not sure if that’s affecting anything.
Under what conditions did you buy the car? Running, not running, known problems etc?
Is it automatic or manual?
A remote start can cause all sorts of problems if it wasn't installed right or has failed. Personally, I would remove the system to take that out of the equation. Once I got the car starting like it should, then I would look at either putting the system back in, buying a new one, or just leaving it out.

if you put fuel in it and it cranked, you need to see if you have fuel pressure and if the injectors are pulsing.
i find it odd that you put fuel in the tank, then it ran for a bit, then it died and won't do anything

I replaced the battery and one of the terminals and now it cranks again but it will not turn over I found out I had a short in my terminal causing the whole car to shut off and not get power but I do have fuel pressure and not sure how to check if Injectors are pulsating it is an automatic
Feel them, listen to them, use a test light, or use a voltage meter will all work.
there is a checklist for this somewhere on the web. I think the guys name that wrote it is Joel 5.0...Not sure on that though

Both Joel 5.0 (sbftech.com) & Jrichker (stangnet) are gurus in the Foxbody/SN95 world.Heres the trouble shooting link for the
EFI No Start checklist on sbftech.Jrichker has one also, but I'll list this one for now.
JFYI - the following two phrases mean the same identical thing.
The engine will crank
The engine turns over
Cranks vs starts vs runs are 3 separate things.
To test for injector pulse you'll need a multimeter + a noid light or test light & a paperclip. You'll also need a assistant for this test or as an alternative, you can jump the starter relay using the screwdriver method like mentioned in a previous post.Onto the tests now:
The first thing you'll need to check is the red wire voltage at the easiest to access injector harness plug.So you'll need your meter for this test.To start, disconnect the injector harness plug, turn the key on,touch your black meter lead to ground & touch your red meter lead to the harness red wire terminal. The meter should read 12 volts. If it does, check for injector pulse next.To do this, get a noid light & simply plug it into the injector harness plug terminals. If you don't own a noid light, insert one end of your paperclip into one of the harness plug terminals.Attach the clip of a test light directly to the paperclip. Now touch the test light probe to the other harness plug terminal then tell your assistant to crank the engine or jump the relay with the screwdriver,if you don't have an assistant there to help. The noid or test light should flash repetitively during crank mode,if injector pulse is present. It should flash when the engine is running also.If the test light flashes, you're good to go on injector pulse.
***NOTE TO SELF***
Make triple sure you've got the transmission in park (aod/aode) neutral (t5) before jumping the starter at the relay because doing it this way bypasses all of the safety (i.e. - clutch safety/neutral safety/neutral gear) switches. So if its left in gear & you touch the screwdriver to the posts, the car is gonna lunge forward and cut you down or run over your foot then cream into whatever is in front or behind it,depending on what gear the car was in when you left it last.It would really suck to be ran over by your own Mustang, right.............

Heres the efi no start trouble shooting link for stangnet,if the sbftech link doesn't help you locate the issue.
