Auto trans question
Hello I have a 2016 gt with auto trans and I want to get a tuner for it and I am wondering with a new tune will it work with the drive and sport mode? Like will bolth modes have the custom tune? Sry if it's a dumb question but this is all new to me...thanks

MY understanding is it will work with no problem. I have a supercharger with a new tune obviously with no problem. I don't think the Mustang Modes have anything to do with "timing & fuel" issues related to a tuner. On my Automatic Mustang they are more related to transmission shift points.

I always note to people that adding a tune will potentially void your warranty. Even if you return to factory settings there will be a "thumbprint" left on the ECM showing it was modified, if you have engine trouble the technician/dealership could try and claim the issue was caused by the modification and thus make you pay for the repairs when it would otherwise fall within warranty. I'm not trying to deter you from tuning, I'm just making sure the "risks" are clear.

Yes, both modes will be tuned and you'll also get rid of that annoying "aggressive" downshifting in sports and track mode.

They can only void the warranty of a given part if that part can be shown to fail because of the modification.

I suspect service depts. only go in for a deep look when they see obvious signs of abuse based on the fact Ford didn't warranty your GT as a "race car"!
