it says a 10hp gain but I just dont c a set up like this being that great because of the mass amount of heat this engine makes, Id just think the intake would be pulling in pure heated air. I'm going with the dropin on this one

 

If I read that correctly the 10Hp gain is WITHOUT a tune.
This is basically the same gain as the 4.6 CAI's without a tune.

With a tune I would expect to see a much better gain.
I really don't understand why you are saying you would drop the idea.

 

im saying id rather use a drop in filter because i feel this intake will be taking in way too much hot air from the engine compartment

 

then get yo self a ram air hood

 

The drop in filter would do squat for these cars.
