Default Intake Questions

I have a 2011 5.0 and I want to add an CAI. I already understand I need a tune. My main question is about the intakes themselves. Is there a diffrence in the brands or personal prefrence only?

Price they all seem comparable. C&L is the cheapest I have found, followed by the AirRaid and then working your way up from there. I noticed both the AirRaid and Steeda seem to have a peice that connects to the factory air ducting. Is this going to make any real difference?

I have read and searched a lot of threads and can't seem to find to much on the C&L for the 5.0's, is there any real reason?

I don't know what you mean by factory air duct but the Steeda Powerflow seems to be what you're looking for. If you lean towards Steeda you can ask Gus, his SN here is STEEDAGUS.

He is referring to the factory air duct that exists that ties into the stock airbox and routes cooler outside air into it.

We were the first and for a while the only company to tie into that piece. We started doing that on the 2010 Mustang.

Here is a picture of the duct with the bumper removed.

The black piece on the bottom of the intake heat shield ties into this factory duct.
