Just wondering if all the 8.8s are the same regardless of year...want to go with either a 373 or 410 gear and want to know if their is a specific installation kit for the 2011 Mustang GT, are the bearings the same? I also came across a shelby 8.8 installation kit which seems to have a rear cover gasket whereas the others dont....would this shelby installation kit fit on my 2011 GT and are the bearings the same or heavier duty then the other kits?

The physical gears are the same from 86 to 2010 (not sure about 2011) and I believe the installation kit (with bearings) is the same from 79 on.

Don't know about the Shelby's or the Cobras though.

The pinion bearing is different on the '10 and '11GT vs prior years.

I think it is the same as the bearing in the GT500.
