Tunes for Performance and Ecomony???
#11
I have the 87, 93 street & 93 race. I have not tried the 87, but there is a difference between the race & street. The race is definately more fun to drive, although with the stock P-zeros I doubt the clock would show it. Hard shifting from 1st to 2nd (still lifting, but a snappy shift) lights the tires every time. 3rd gear is still lighting them up on anything other than perfect pavement. The 93 street is a little more tractable, but where is the fun in that? Mileage sucks with my foot; I am getting 14 + or -.

Fuel economy??? I'm not quite sure what that is since I still have my 5,750 pound 4WD '04 Chevy Trailblazer that gets barely over 13 mpg in the city. Planning on getting the SCT tuner, Steeda CAI, and Roush axlebacks from AM. If you can manage to lay off the go pedal (Yeah Right!) those types of mods will not affect mpg and may even slightly improve it. But there's just something wrong with you if you're buying performance mods and not expecting a drop in gas mileage IMO

I saw no change in fuel economy on my 07 with an intake+tune, they say HP takes fuel, i suspect part of the similiar mileage is making the engine run efficiently, I don't think they would be able to somehow tune it to use less fuel even in some sort of "granny mode" where i made less HP. I'd expect it wouldn't run right, less fuel + too much air = too lean = detonation... so nope.. dont think you'll be seeing a fuel saver mode, the fuel saver is in your right foot. unless you wanted something where even if you floor it you only get 50% throttle.
