GT500 Exhaust- Another Happy Customer
Just had my GT500 axel-back exhaust installed today- sounds amazing. It is exactly what I wanted, aggressive but not annoying. The sound of the back pressure is super sexy.
Funny story about the install- the place I took it to was a muffler shop but they were renovating so the "waiting area" was actually an old garage bay seperated from the lift my car was on by a sheet of plastic. When they pulled it in, I could hear the mechanics "ooh"ing and "ahh"ing over the car itself. then they pulled out the exaust and saw the SVT sticker on it and they got even more excited.
Once the work was done, they cranked it up and everyone in the waiting area startled when it roared to life. Then he punched the gas a little and everyone was looking at each other and one guy said "and that's with the mufflers on?". It was awesome. I felt like a proud papa.
Perfect exhaust at a perfect price. I highly recommend this exhaust. I cant stop grinning ear to ear.

Well, my arrived today (from American Muscle!) excellent price and love the way they sound...exactly what i was looking for. Mellow (but 'throaty & full) unless you punch them! Very happy camper...no raspy stuff, no drone, just 'mellow-ness'.
BTW had them installed at a muffler shop...very glad i didnt try it myself (they ended up removing both mid-pipe sections to get them bolted in..it took ~ an hour....plus, i got to peek under the lift and look the entire car over for a good while...totally worth the $85 bucks it cost me!)

I put the GT500 axlebacks on my car this weekend and I agree that it does sound REALLY good but still is a bit too quiet.
Install was easy. Probably took about an hour with me figuring out how to wiggle them out of the exhaust hangers (had to drop the track bar from the drivers side which was easy as well as using a floor jack to push the factory H pipe up in order to separate the ball joint.
From what I've read from others, removing the resonators (cheapest is to have a shop weld in straight pipe in place of them) yields the perfect blend of exhaust volume but still ZERO DRONE.
That's my goal with this car. Civilized when I want it to be... I'm probably going to end up getting the heart throb H-pipe and axle pipes without the flowpacks (resonators)
They're $372 (the aluminized version) from Auto-anything. Next to bottom on this page.
