I forgot I made this post, I ended up buying a truck but I miss my mustang, looking to get a 2014 gt an thought I'd check out mustang forums again and was surprised to see this thread still going.

Thanks for all the input, looks like the oil catch can seems to be the way to go

So how much oil is too much in the intake manifold?

Trying to figure out where all my oil is going. 2000 miles since last oil change and there's nothing on the dipstick. Also only drained about 2 quarts during the last oil change, which is what prompted me to start keeping an eye on it. (didn't have this problem with my 05, my 06 seems to be going through significantly more)

Pulled the throttle body and noticed a pool of oil in the back of the intake manifold. Way more than the teaspoon that has been mentioned several times in this thread, more like 4 or 5 teaspoons.

So how much is cause for concern? Rather, given that I seem to be losing so much oil, how much of a contributor is this issue to the problem?

6600 miles on my 14 GT and the original Motorcraft Synthetic. Free oil changes for 2 years @ 8K intervals with full synthetic. I can't tell if it has used any oil yet or not. I don't think so.

Ummm, pull the dipstick and check it every now and then. "Now that's thinkin' with yer dipstick, Jimmy!"

Especially if you are going 8K miles between changes. I would never risk going that long without checking it every so often, and with all of the documented "oil consumption" that these cars have it is a must-do.
