Default Starter Motor problems

About two weeks ago my starter motor made disconcerting screeching noises upon start-up; however, the car always started. Took it in to the ford dealership and they replaced it.

My car has 29200 miles and is obviously a daily driver. Just curious if other people are having their starter motor getting the chop?

No problems here. A quick Google search showed the average lifespan of a starter motor is over 10 years.

Well mine barely made a year so I'd say I stand below average :/

Probably just a defective unit. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
