Default bbk x-pipe

I have an 89 lx that I am installing bbk long tubes.my problem is that the X-pipe inlets are to close together and won't line up with the headers.BBK says loosen the headers and fasten the X-pipe then tighten the headers.Anybody heard of this???I bought the headers and x-pipe second hand but they had never been mounted.

sorry buddy you posted this in the wrong section, this is the 11-12 Mustang 5.0L section. try the 1979-1995 5.0L section.
