Have you talked to brenspeed anymore?? I am truely curious as to what their stance will be or what they say. I run the same tune you do..

"""I agree with whoever posted and said its most likely someone running a 93 tune and 89 fuel, or maybe bad gas, I run a 93 tune and carry octane boost in the trunk in case I get a bad feeling about the gas station""""

Me too. Look, this is a real issue with serious consequences. This is my third ride with bolt-ons and a tune, and never once have I had a concern over an uncovered repair. Be warned, folks. I not only ran 93 religiously, I bought it from the same reputable station for the entire year. I did not run a lower grade fuel. If they sold me poor quality gas, which I seriously doubt, then there should be enough margin of error in the base programming for that possibility. Somebody cheats at a gas station and sells me a lower grade fuel equals a blown motor???? I don't think so. Ford better make this right, and to the folks convinced it will not happen to you, I WAS TOO. There is a problem with this motor. Be careful.

I sure hope Ford corrects this for you.

For those reading this thread, how many have substantial mileage on their 2011+ 5.0 motors?

And hopefully many, many more. Where in Illinois are you from? I'm currently working as a consultant for CAT in Peoria. I've been there for the last year.

I have only talked with them once, and they said to take it in and see if ford covers it. Chandler was very quick to call me back, by the way. So the dealer is the next step. If ford declines and blames the tune, I will be calling them back for help.

This situation is horrible. Even if Ford fixes it or you have to fork up the cash yourself, who knows how long will it last? Will you get a new warranty after the repair?

my "wife's" is a DD... 23k total miles, 19k miles with mods done in Oct 2010.on 3rd set of spark plugs, 2nd set of street tires and 2nd pair of DR. Spraying a 175 wet shot, extended redline to 7500, BBK headers, BBK x pipe, JLT intake 110mm MAF,,,SCT tuner with mostly JLT tunes and rest custom dyno..

AND we have 91 octane. NO 93 here..we run VP 100 on the track

driven hard street, strip, street racing, road rage, generalized abuse and it is the Arizona desert,,,,so 100 degrees in the shade, dirt, dust, stop and go traffic....but i have over maintained it. steady diet chevron 91, royal purple syn, frequent fluid changes..

Also, I would like to point out there are numerous 5.0 with stock internals running big boost and making waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more power than I ever will.

So why are they not blowing up?

If they cover it with anything other than a fresh long block, I will probably get rid of it. If they go the distance, I'm good and will drive it with confidence.

If they don't cover it at all, I will go with a forged bottom end and boss top end, and will run the hell out of it.

just go leave it on the "bad" side of town with the keys on the dash and windows rolled downed. You can start over then.
