Boss 302 Intake
#11
I'd give up a loss of a about 10lbs of torque for a gain of 30hp easily, plus all the hp with that intake is made at the top, when you are shifting from 7500rpm at WOT the next gear kicks in at about 5000rpm where you are making most of the hp as you continue to go through the gears.
In other words to get real word gains it's not just a $400 add on.

The torque loss is 20. Peak hp gains were overall hp gain is about 20. However peak numbers in the high rpm range are more like 40. I don't totally agree with the 6000 launch. Tough to keep it off the rev limiter from their. If u want the boss I would go full exhaust first to counter the low torque effects.

Torque loss down low is in the 20 range up to about 5500-6000 and then it starts building peak numbers all the way up to 7500. It will peak around 30-40 RWHP more due to being able to run all the way up to 7500 where the stock manifold starts dropping off after 6000-6500.
With the increased rev limit, I can now stay in 4th thru the timing lights and dont lose speed/time due to the extra shift in the 1/4. I don't know what my trap speed is as that wasnt working the last time I ran at the local strip.
To combat the torque loss down low, just swap out gears at the same time to a 3.73 or better yet, a 4.10!!

5500 is around where the torque and power curves cross/separate for both plenums in favor of the Boss. That is why a person with the the Boss intake and no ported heads launch around 6k to get a faster et.
