As for mpg, I have MT with 3.73's. At 50 mph I get between 27-30ish mpg depending on wind and if I can draft on someone. At 65 mph on the interstate, it's right at 25-26 depending on grade (29ish when drafting). All depends on how much pedal you use really!

Wow that is awesome mileage. Was that on the full tank? The best I ever got on my road trips to Vegas from Phoenix was 24 MPG that is on a automatic with the 3.15 averaging 70 -77 MPH. Going again soon with the 3.55 I will post what I get. I am expecting 22 ish.
My average mix in 20 MPG.

I am not sure, it all depends on the plans you have for your car. My car is stock just axlebacks although its a 6 speed. It came with 3.73s and its faster than any other stock 5.0 that has 3.31s at any gear. I confirmed this about a month ago when a 13/14 pulled next to me on my way to Sacramento CA. the guy passed my flooring it and then waited he for me. When the freeway open up we gave it a go from 3rd gear and I took him twice by about a car or two. The guy could not believe my car was stock.

Shorter gears will give you a an advantage off the line and at any gear against a similar car with stock gears but this advantage will not matter much once you start adding mods to your car, a converter will do wonders too, but I can definitely see the advantage in my car as it sits.

Yeah I have been noticing anything more than 3.31 you won't really see much or anything on the performance side. Now I am going by what I have been reading in a few different places and by everyone's post. Converter is the way to go. Now from what I see is 3.73 gears (IMO) would be a better gear around the city for mpg. Usually lower gears 3.15 or 3.31 for hwy. again this is from what I have read in a few places. I have the 3.15 and want to change to 3.73 but I am mostly city driving and min hwy and no track driving. Again this is my opinion on it as I haven't changed gears yet but will this year
