Before I jump into a 2011+, some questions...

In the end, I wound up buying a 2012 GT, white in color.
This car is as amazing as I thought it would be; at least after one drive home from a dealer, anyhow.
After flipping through the owner's manual, I couldn't believe how little maintenance is in the back of it. Just the 80K mile transmission fluid change on my Jetta was over a hundred bucks and that was with me doing it myself. Dealer's quote was over $300.
What a jip. I sure will miss 43 MPG on the freeway, though.

Im with ya man screw the new 5.0s, sure they have more power but they sound like complete crap - my friend has one and i have driven it several times - I love the sound my 4.6 makes when I start the engine, i love hwo it has a growl right from the line, but the 5.0 is quiet as a mouse til 3k rpm, sure you can get an axleback and makes it louder, but doesn't give it the nice deep growl that SOUNDS like a muscle car. but i guess more and more people are preferring the raspy x pipe sound these days... i guess its true what lotta older people are saying, the car enthusiast car is going to trash.
Those 4.6 didnt sound that good when my 13 v6 walked right by em

2011 Mustangs built in September 2010 and subsequent had their introduction issues fixed before delivery from Ford. My 2011 GT has 45,000 miles on it and it has been trouble free except for sway bar bushings that were replaced by Ford.
The Coyote motor is fantastic!

I've had 4 Mustangs, all 5.0s, starting with a '68....and I can tell you I was never, ever going to buy another as long as that boat anchor 4.6 was in there. All that thing could do was suck gas and present middling performance.
These cars are not that heavy. Mine's a completely loaded '12, with BBP and it's 3680 lb, on fumes, with ME IN IT (I'm a buck 50, btw.) That is verified on two certified scales. That makes the car a little over 3500, on its own, with a full load, bar glass roof. The Camaro is 3800-ish, without a driver.
My 88 5.0 was about 3350 w. me in it, with only pw and pl so, about 3200 lb of car. So, considering how tiny it was and the lack of any real options, the weight gain isn't so bad on the new car, especially considering how much safer this car is and the fat-***-ness of its competition.
Sound? GT500 mufflers and a stick on the new 5.0 basically makes the car sound like the Bullitt soundtrack, on slightly reduced volume. It's magnificent.
