2011 GT Oil Flow Issue
Hi all. I recently bought a 2011 Mustang GT from auction down south. I am currently working on getting it running/inspected, but my mechanic is at a loss as to what the issue might be. He tested the psi and it's at 10, at the filter. It's steadily decreasing the more the engine idles. When you hit the gas, it shuts off. He's not all that familiar with the 5.0 engine and we're hoping someone else may have had a similar experience before tearing apart the engine. Any insight or information is appreciated. I am slowly learning, but forgive my lack of experience/knowledge about this.

If your mechanic/shop isn't confident enough or knowledgeable enough about the type of engine/car they are working on, the smartest thing they can do for you is refer you to someone who does.
There's nothing wrong with admitting it's not your area of expertise and should be referred elsewhere. To me, a shop that knows its limits and admits it, is a shop I would return to first whenever I need service. Otherwise you'll end up paying (literally) for their mistakes and that is crappy and dishonest service.

It's more so that he's trying to save me money as a family friend. He's doing his own research as well and has charged me cost for all parts installed with no fee on top including installation. A dealership is our next step if no one had any insight to what the issue could be.
