Audio Questions???
if i'm thinking of the same tube things you're talkin about (like the ones at the water slides?) i think it would be SICK to build a fiberglass enclosure to sit inside the well of the tube with a lip to rest on top of the tube to hold it in place...put a small (8 incher maybe) sub in the middle of the enclosure and in the bottom...then build some custom mounts for the components and suspend them above the sub enclosure...then have a lip all the way around the speakers for ice, beer, etc (maybe even cupholders)...then EVERYone can hear your music.....now THAT would be the ULTIMATE water toy
I'm not sure if it would mess up, but it probably won't play cds upside down or on it's side, as car cd players are not spindle opereated, like portable cd players or a game cube, car cd players are tray operated like a computer. so if the cd is not sitting right on the tray, I don't think it will work. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. And as soon as I get my HU back from ford, I'll take a picture of the top of the HU, or somebody else can.

I used to have a horizontal computer tower and the cd drive was sideways. Never had a problem with the cds working in it and it functions the same as my current deck.

Don't get me wrong... there is a river out here where I live, and you better believe it, that we are gettin ready to float it, and i wish i had something like what he is building, but I don't want him to build it, and then find out that he messed up his head unit, and has to go with another approach.

The car audio shop down the street from me told me they mount headunits in all different directions. They put alot into center consoles facing up so it will be no problem. Ill try and take some pics and post them when I get it built.
