ORIGINAL: F00Mustang

Memphis has an unregulated power supply
I have had my Memphis class d's running around 10
The reason that JL needs to shut down after 10.5 volts is because of limitations of the wire. After 10.5 (you can actually do the math to prove this if you've taken a basic circuit analysis cource), is that current draw goes up exponentially beyond that point. The current draw is such that the wire would be in danger of melting, or you would just start popping fuses and breakers.

2 different typed of amps, and each has their +'s and -'s.

BTW, If your amp is only geting 10 volts, you may want to start upping your charging system. Even though it works, that's not good for the amp or your speakers.
It used to when I was on a stock 100 amp altenator running 3300 watts. Now I have a 250 amp and it doesn't go believe 13.1 or so.
