Lanzar Amps and Mach 460 question
I recently was running a Lightning Audio 450 watt amp in my mach 460 on a red Sony Xplod 10' inch 1100 watt subwoofer. The amp was over heating and shutting off after a while, so I decided to upgrade to a better amp. I went with the Lanzar Vibe426 1600watt 4 channel amplifier. Whats happening is this...the amp will be hitting hard one second, but in a few moments it will start hitting soft for some reasons. It goes back and forth between hitting soft and hard, and I'm not sure what the problem is. I want to upgrade to a second sony xplod 10' and run two, but I'm worried that the amp will keep doing whats it doing. I'm not sure if it might be an overheating problem, I did feel the amp a while back and it did feel a bit warm around the edges, but I really don't know anything else I can do to keep it cool. The box and amp are in the trunk of my 1999 mustang GT. The amp shouldnt be overheating just pushing some xplods. I thought it might also be that I might not have a good enough ground for the amp, but in my mustang I had some trouble finding a good ground screw, and the one I found looks like it was coated over just a tad when it was painted. That might very well be the problem, but I don't have another ground that I know of, and I don't know how to make a custom ground in a car. Let me know what you guys think, hopefully you know something about lanzar amps, and maybe we can get this problem squared away.

how many ohms is the rating on the sub and how do you have the 4-channel amp wired to the sub?

don't think it's your ground i've made my own ground drilled a hole throw part of the frame sanded it then made sure it was tight. i'm running two sony 12" xplod's a 1200 watt xlpod amp and a 250 xplod amp for the mid's and high's
I need a little help setting up the crossover again, can someone explain which wires to splice into and where to run them again? I accidently pulled a few wires off when i put in my new box and I absolutely forgot how I set them up before. Also, I need to know how to connect the 2 sony xplods to the lanzar Amp. The amp has 4 channels, rated at 4 ohms, the same as the subs.
