Default Replaced Speakers

I finally replaced all 4 speakers on my 06 GT (I have the shaker 500) I put in polk audio speakers all around. I also added a sub in the trunk. It sounds a whole lot better, but it's still missing something IMO. I think the speakers in the front need more bass, but since they are only 5X7 2 way speakers, they aren't going to put out that much bass. Any opinions on what I can do? I still have the shaker 500 head unit that everyone loves. Will replacing that make a huge difference in sound? What do you all think? Thanks!

My MTX is fine and really augments the bass from the front subs.

Any info on what the rating is for the front door speakers?

Peak and RMS Ratings.

Was looking to run my new rear speakers with a amp, and wasn't sure if I was going to run the front door ones as well, minus the subs.

Thanks

DRBOVBS - Is that a custom Subwoofer box or did you purchase it? Also, Does anyone know the impedence of ths cheap stock speakers and what impedence they need to be in order to work with the Shaker 500? I'm looking at buying new speakers for front and back as well.

The speakers in the fron arn't supposed to give you amazing bass. The bass they give out is just compliment the highs and mids. No matter if you put in 3-ways or 3-ways. The only way you could get a little more bass out of them is to run them off a 4 channel amp, Actually it wont necessarily give you more bass per say but it will give them better responce time and cut out most distortion while playing your music loud. Nothing you put in there will ever give you bass like a real sub.

The Sub is an MTX Thunderform. Pre-made for the Mustang, Sowaxeman has one as well I think. The front door speakers as well as rears are 4ohm. I replaced mine w/ Infinitys. The front subs?...don't even bother if you're keeping the stock HU. Just leave em. They're about 1.25 ohm. The HU has a built in LP crossover to them and the stock amps will not work right with aftermarkets. That's why most preople I've met, if they want to change those, usually rip out everything and start from scratch.

I've read that someone swapped out their hu, no other modifications made, and the subs still worked?
