Default Wiring 4-ohm for 2-ohm?

Can any subwoofer be wired as 2-ohm? How do you know if you can wire a subwoofer as 2-ohm? Thanks!

Bridged at the amp = 2 ohm. Bridged at the amp and at the speaker (dual voice coil), = 1 ohm. Most amps are NOT 1 ohm stable, most rockford amps are.

not necessarily, it is just important to match the sub to the amp. A DVC will give you some options but you can also have too many options that would not match the amp you have. What are you wanting amp/sub wise?

Well I was thinking a Kenwood 1800 (450 RMS 4-ohm/ 900 RMS 2-ohm) and something that will hit nice and low and hit hard, not boom.... i'm not too sure about ubs, economy on my mind, i don't need top of the line...

if you want to run 2 subs you will want 2 SVC 4 ohm speakers, if you are only using one then you want the DVC.
