Default Few Mustang questions

I plan to put a big system in my Mustang, I have a few questions.

What is the stock amperage draw of the Mach 460 system?

How much extra amperage draw can the alternator handle before it begins to sustain damage?

I'm doubting I'll need a 2nd battery for this installation, though.

the stock power is rated at 460 watts, who knows what the real number is.

It would be better if you told us what you are wanting to put into the car. 460 watts can be any number above or below depending on the brand, and how they rate their stuff.

If you need a 2nd battery they you will also need a larger alt.

I was planning on at least 2 12" subs, full component speakers, and to take the Mach 460 out and put it to good use by trap-shooting the components. Especially the head unit, I'm sick of having to pound the dashboard before the stock in-dash 6disc will eject.

I might move the door speakers into the kick panels, too.

EDIT: I just remembered Ohm's law, the stock 460 system does a 38.5 amp current run on the system, given the system runs at 460 watts all the time (I'm expecting 230W, actually)

I wouldn't really recommend re-using the mach amps, they start to clip much sooner then a descent aftermarket amp will and there are certainly better speakers.

Trap shooting componants is a term I have never heard after more then a decade installing.?.?.?.

And again, if you will need to upgrade the stock electricals will depend on what you get. You can get 2 10's with a k-mart amp and be fine or 2-10"s powered by a jbl crown amp and need a little help.

Please be specific on what you are thinking about installing.

What I meant by 'trap shooting them' is throwing them in the air and shooting them with a shotgun (my little personal term)

I'm putting 2x12 subs in (probably put about 500w on both, 250 each), new head unit, and I'm redoing all the component speakers, but with finances, I'm having to take this one step at a time, so I'm just doing the subs.

I believe if I take all the Mock four-sucks-ty stuff out I won't have any charging system problems.

And the reason I'm doing this is that I'm in the process of starting up a car-audio resale business, and I kind of need some rolling advertisement.

I wish i had the trunk space to run 2 12" like i have now. I have 4 of them setting at the house and can only run 1 12" RE SX. Makes me miss my SUV some times. Whats your budget on subs? Maybe i can reccomnd some brands to you. you looking for more SQ or more SPL.

What I'm really angling for is a system that has good quality sound, but will rattle a good bit if I crank it. This is hard to pull off, so I guess I'll lean towards SQ.

I'll probably end up building my own box if I don't get somebody else to do it.

if you want SQ buy mr. kebo's sub!...i have an Alpine MRD-M501 550Wx1 at 2 ohms amp laying around....i've been trying to get rid of it for like a year and a half since i got my new system...i also have the 4 gauge monster cable power and ground cable if you want. Say $250 shipped? It seriously was barely used...i know most people think "barely used" is such BS...i know i do....but i kid you not...i used it for about 3 months to push my old POS sony subs in my Contour...and then the tranny went out and my parents gave me my mom's old V6 and i got a new system in it...been sitting in my closet ever since...PM me if you want
