Mach 460 cd-changer prob
My 6 disc player doesn't read/accept/eject any discs. It just says "CD Error" everytime. I've had this problem ever since I got it and I've already tried multiple times disconnecting the battery and other similar methods. It also does't seem to recognize any radio stations. Any ideas or suggestions?
BTW how do you remove the deck without damaging the center dash?

Pull the bezel around the shifter up, it is held on with snap-on clips.
then you pull the bezel around the radio straight out from the dash. I think the radio is attached with two screws. after that, it just slides out.

I've got this same problem in the '01 GT I just picked up as a project car. I know nothing about stereos, so I took it to a stereo shop a friend of mine owns. He says I've got a fubar'd changer mechanism and 4 out of 5 times he's seen this, the mechanism had to be replaced. He didn't have any mechanisms in stock, so he didn't want to pull the unit to discover it had to be replaced -- I'm waiting for him to get a mechanism before I take it back and have him pull it.
On the bright side, when he does pull it, I'll get 6 CDs out of the deal ...
Not very helpful, but I thought I'd share the info ...

Thanks for the info, I figured this thing was probably a bit of junk from the factory. It doesn't matter anymore to me since I decided to buy one of those 7 inch flip up dvd players. I should have bought gears or some LTs but it looks cool[8D]
