Default Shaker Head Unit Wattage

I have been searching all of the net for this info for a really long time and I cant find a straight answer on the Shaker (500) Head Unit wattage output.

I would like to replace the main speakers and the head unit, but want to make sure that I get at least as much volume out of it that I get now. Most of the units I have looked at to replace the Shaker with are 22 watts RMS / 50 Peak per channel or 200 Watts Peak total. While I haven't been able to find any specs on the Shaker head unit itself, I DID find specs on the sub amps and I believe they are 120 watts peak / amp (~240 watts total) which leaves ~260 watts peak to the head unit or 65 watts per channel. I don't really believe that it actually puts out 260 watts, but there is enough doubt to delay any $$$ purchases until I get an answer from someone who knows...

I have heard lots of people say that everything sounds "better" after replacing the Shaker, but no one says its as loud. It probably doesn't matter as much with the coupe, but I've got a convertible, and when you are speeding down the freeway with the roof down, you need all the volume you can get.

Any info on these specs would be greatly appreciated...
