Default RE: TYPE R!!!

you guys gotta be kidding right?

If I ask you who makes your favorite pizza and what was on it, and then told you that their pizza sucked and that pappa johns was better would it hurt your feelings? If it does then go buy an import. Asking people what their favorite brand of equipment is just like asking someone about their favorite pizza. They are both as important as one another.... Do ya understand?
No because your comparing apples to oranges. What your comparing is like us comparing the settings on your head unit to the Pizza Hut to Papa Johns pizza. Because it's all down to how and what you hear (car audio)or how and what you like (pizza)If you wanta comparisonto car audio onyour pizza bit there it's like comparing one of those $2 Totinos pizzas (Type-R)to a local pizza places pan pizza (XXX). It's not some small frozen, minimal toppings crap pizza. It's big, lots of fresh toppings, and cooked perfectly.

For every idiot boasting about the quality of type R's, there is somone PM'ing me asking for a good setup. I consider that mission aaccomplished.
I get those every once and a while too. Generally when I answer a question quickly and without any sarcasm to someones question. I haven't gotten alot lately but I say in the past month or two I have gotten 6-8 messages on products to consider, how to set things up etc.

So don't bash us and say were ****** to everyone. We do infact help quite a few people on a regular basis, they just tend to listen go do it and not come back here unless they have another problem, they dont come back and complain about what we said because if they take our advice and suggestions 90% of the time they are more than happy and just send a message saying thank you.

The one's like Chris01GT or something, he angers me. I don't enjoy helping people like that. Sure, Jazzer, you can be a pushover and let them run all over you. Be my guest [/blockquote]

Ok. Imade a threadasking a relevent question and yousaid "go away[&:]".

How is that helping?....If your not going to help why bother posting anberating comment on a thread? Not everyone has unlimited funds to spend on their cars. I wanted a setup for under $500 and I got a 30%-40% discount on everything. How did I deserve to get flamed for that?....

Go away.
LOL. Too funny.

You will never be able to go anywhere (including Best Try) and purchase an entire system for $500. And we never give suggestions that are outragously priced unless your someone that (and this was just a few days ago) asked for a single woofer and amp set that performed beautifully and got very loud for under $2k. And that yes was a high priced suggestion, but thats what he asked for. 95% of the time, we shout out smaller brands that most people can get over the internet, that is equal priced to many national brands in the national stores, but have superior performance.

Im just really sick of people saying we suggest the most expensive equipment all the time, when in fact I have only suggested something with a nearly unlimited budget once in the past year here.

For the record, Chris01GT said he would SPEND about $500 and with his discounts get approx. 30% -40% off retail. So if I am doing the math correcly, about $800 - $900 worth of equip. Now that may not be enough to get where he wants to go, but wanted to clear that up.

Jaz

BTW, Chris can you please get your foot off of my back, I just had my suit pressed

Concept 504 Amp - $100

IMO,

In answer to your question hpwrestler220, I myself have an '01 V6 with 2 Alpine Type R 10s in the trunk. If you are interested in 1 12" Alpine Type R, it will sound great, trust me. Alpine is a top quality company as is JL. Just so long as you match the sub to the amp, you will definitely get great bass. In fact going with 1 12" is a good idea because I sure don't have any trunk space left with the box I got for my 2 10s. My suggestion would be to go with a clean system. By that I mean, you don't want to be all bass and not hear any lyrics. With that said, I would suggest going with a good head unit and good speakers in the car. Put bass blocks on the speakers in the car and then you won't have to worry about the distortion you get when small speakers try to create big bass. With that sub you will have all the bass you need.

The highlited quotes are the ones everyone should pay no attention to.

By the way genius...all a bass blocker is, is a design to lower intermodulation distortion for decently small drivers. Idiot. Take your Alpine nut hugging butt out of the audio/visual section.

Yes you will those are filters, they will never block all distortion, nothing will ever block all distortion. You will never see those in a decent audio system. People who use those are people that have $10 for those but not an extra $100 for better speakers and amplifiers. It's a cheap and bad alternative.

You never stated getting anything for free. So you'll need to tag on an additional $100 atleast for the box and wiring.
As you also left out numerous products needed for an "entire system".

- 4 Channel amp
- Kit and Harness
- Fuse and holder
- Sales tax

Nice try.

I have to put my .02 in......I have no probs with Type R's. I have ran them and was satisfied. I hate the this brand - vs- this brand - vs- that brand argument. Not to say that some products aren't better than others. MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF A SOUND SYSTEM: INSTALL, INSTALL, INSTALL!!!!!!!!! Regardless of equipment choice, the install can make great components sound like s**t, or cheap components sound great. Also, don't expect great things from prefab enclosures, you're not gonna get it. The best money/time spent is on the proper enclosure regardless of sealed or ported. This info, you can take to the bank!!!!!!!!!

Again, what did this post accomplish? He didn't say anything that wasn't true, there is no need to attack him. He can keep his "alpine nut hugging butt" here just like you and I can and should not feel attacked.
