People visit forums to ask questions, why don't they listen to the answers.

My first sub was a jensen 10" in bandpass from walmart. I wish someone would have told me I could have done better for the money.

BTW, frequency response has nothing to do with the quality of a sub. Sound quality is a relative term that people with experince can judge. If you have only heard the subs at best buy, you have no idea what sound quality is, but by going to local shops and listening to as many install as you can, you cna gain an opinion.

For every idiot boasting about the quality of type R's, there is somone PM'ing me asking for a good setup. I consider that mission aaccomplished.

I enjoy helping the few that want help, and giving the ignorant that ask for it and don't listen a hard time.

The one's like Chris01GT or something, he angers me. I don't enjoy helping people like that. Sure, Jazzer, you can be a pushover and let them run all over you. Be my guest

I agree.

I do think people DO listen to the answers for the most part, but realize that every person that asks a question has not read EVERY thread. I am sure you would agree with me that doing so would be a good idea, but human nature being what it is, doesn't always work that way.

As far as listening to Type R subs compared with others that you consider to be better quality, this will always be the case.Someone willALWAYS think one sub, tweeter or mid will sound better than another. If I haveType R subs, andhappy with them it would be hard to hear you think they suck and I should not have bought them. I realize that someone askswhat you think, and you just answer, I get that. I just think it sucks to have avery limited budget as many do that askquestions, and you bash thierdecision with fools buy those and you wasted your money. This isyourright to do so. If someonedoesn't like it, they can leave or ignore your advice.

When it comes down to it, if someones experience with Type R subs (or any other speaker, just the example of this thread) is a good one, I say more power to them.

I won't get into a pissing contest, nor will Ibelabor this issue. I respect your's and others opinions, I just don't always follow them.

The Jazzer's $.02 cents

No one on this Earth could possibly believe a Type R will be thegreatest sub, or even the best bang for the buck.

you guys gotta be kidding right?

If I ask you who makes your favorite pizza and what was on it, and then told you that their pizza sucked and that pappa johns was better would it hurt your feelings? If it does then go buy an import. Asking people what their favorite brand of equipment is just like asking someone about their favorite pizza. They are both as important as one another.... Do ya understand?

Jaz,

The only issue your missing is that if they are asking for advice I need to give them an honest answer. If they later chime in and say they have bought the item its too late.

If someone asks, I will tell them the truth.

If someone has them, sorry, I hope you are happy with your purchase, but that doesn't change my opinion.

Well, for one it doesn't drop very low. 30hz is about the lowest the sub will go. They aredecent bang for the buck, but are definitely unable to hang with the big boys. Typically you should stay away from anything audio related you find at Bestbuy.

I personally just don't like how everyone comes on here and raves about how the Jl w7 is so good, and the Type R is so good.

People just need to open up more to the car audio world surrounding them.
