Type R's are just hyped for teenagers that listen to rap music and drive V6 mustangs. I bet most of the owners of type R's also wear visors upside down and backwards.

Seriously, any sub can be loud (my $10 visonik I bought from wal-mart for fun can outperform a lot of setups I have heard). If people would educate themselves, there would be fewer type r's on the road.
Interesting, are you trying to say that statistically, Type R's are the new Audiobahn?
Basically, just less chrome. Its called a fad. Everyone that works at best buy or circuit city tells every kid they are the hardest hitting sub ever and they are the "tightest". People buy them becuase of advice of people that have a limited knowledge of even their own products, and have no idea what exists elsewhere. This drives local shops to carry the same equipment because people ask for it, not the higher quality/same price stuff.

A shop in OK I frequented had to stop selling Eclipse (When they still made excellent equipment) because people did not want thier expertise, they wanted what some dumb kid at school that worked at best buy had.

There is a viscious cycle in car audio. Whatever cc and bb carry, people will think is awesome.

It's a wonder how LIGHTENING audio hasn't broke the 3.5 billion $ a year gross total product (gtp).

Sell the R now!

What type of sound are you going for, pre-fab box, or are you building one?
Spl, or SQ?

Let me do some reasearch at lunch.

I'm thinking an Elemental designs K orO series would be very nice. I will look around.

I just ordered a MB Quart RWE, I got the 15" version, but the 12's are the same price, only 110$ shipped. Supposed to be very good SQ, especially the 10/12" models, and the 15 is supposed to be about as clear as a 15's ever gonna get.
