Not that they are horrible, just they are too high priced.
So are the Focal comp sets I priced you, but I really like them.

Best SQ on the market???
I don't think the RE XXX would agree or concur with you. Even though the Eclipses weigh 50 lbs. for a 10".

Obviously the person above has never heard the eclipse aluminum cone drivers. They are considered by many to be one of the best sq subs on the market. I think Jl's are very nice, but grossly overrated and overpriced. If your parents are paying for it then get the JL's, if you are paying, there is much better for the money.
You will need another2 or 4 channel amp to power your door speakers.

The XXX is an amazing sub and I own a couple RE products. The XXX has the ability to maintain good sq (Probilbily on par with the Eclipse Aluminum cones), but is primarily an SPL sub. They can sound good in the right enclouse and still get loud as hell.
I was doing some reseach and my next sub my be and fi bl or q series sub. They are made is las vegas which means I hope they bought the old RE shop and have started producing subs under the same manner that RE did before the US amps takeover.

Not in this case. They are highly overpriced. And for less price, you can have better with what I recommended.

He asked you the same questions anyone with knowledge would ask you.
In car audio, you can get great equipment for a great price if you look in the right places.
I agree with Hiss on the Rainbow comps, but I have never really heard a set of focals I was in love with. Ideally, you need to go somewhere that carries a variety of equipment (or mulitple stores), try to run everything at close to the same conditions, and decide what you like.
I had never heard a set of CDT's before I bought them. I bought them off the word of mouth of hundreds on the caraudio.com forum. I love these speakers. The tweeter was a little laid back so I replaced it with an aura tweeter and now my front stage sounds amazing. The best part is I only paid $220 for the whole setup and they blow my friends diamond hex's out of the water.
If you really want a good setup and want to save some money, listen to people like Hiss, ttocs, Jazzer and myself. We all seem to have a bit of knowledge about car audio.

Please listen to Hiss. He is one of the few other members I would consider to know what they are talking about.
