Irall, you are wrong to say that any woofer is loud. The amount of spl a woofer creates not only deals with the woofer's xmax, it also GREATLY depends on the installation. No sub is "louder" then another. If you put every sub free air and just played a 40hz signal all the woofers would give off about the same level of volume. Its all in installtion.

To each his own, everyone has different opinions so it shouldnt matter what other people think about your car audio as long as your satisfied.Not everyone can afford high performance car audio so theres always gonna be someone who has a better setup, the difference is that everyone has a different taste in music some people like KILLER bass and some dont. its worthless to keep talking about this sucks and this is better there is ALWAYS something better. if you buy them on the net the Type R is one of the best bangs for the buck but if you pay retail then there are several subs that will outdo it for less money. Online they go for like $120 shipped find a sub to out do them for that much money, there are one or two in the $150 plus shipping range but now your like $80 more expensive. AA, Diamond, DD and several other companies make a sub better for about that price but we didnt say it was the best we said one of the best bangs for the buck and it is on the list so he wasnt wrong.[/align][/align]No im not a alpine dealer but i give credit where credit is due. wouldnt be my first choice but hey im a DD dealer, lol[/align]

 

i had 3 type-r's in my ricer and it banged.... alpine is pretty nice audio....

 

I don't think alpine is anywhere near great bang for the dollar. That whole sound quality issue makes itcloser tothe bottom of my lst, but it is subjective.
